Whether it is a fashion-lover cupcake or an astronaut sitting on toast—every scene has something different, something unique.
Ryan believes that the specialty of Buni is its simple but relatable topics. Food, sleep, Monday, jealousy, phone, holidays—these are all topics that are related to everyone’s life. Earlier, there was a lot of mention of one-sided love in his comics, but now he has deviated a bit from that track. Ryan says, “Now the girl who is in love and who doesn’t like you—it doesn’t seem as funny as it used to.” Making a Buni comic is not as easy as it looks. Ryan says that the hardest part is coming up with new ideas. He spends an hour every day sketching with a pencil, hoping that one out of 4-5 sketches will work. Once the idea is finalized, then drawing, inking and coloring is quite easy for him.
